Pick up your sickles and metal pipes, pump your fist in the air and declare your allegiances out loud this Labour Day as the Singapore Dark Alternative Movement unveils the flag inscribed with the words Heart Of Darkness.

Rally the people and congregate at SIX as congress will take place from 9pm onwards with DJs Murderfreak and Cosmic Battlefield square off in a musical motion of Industrial against New Wave throughout the night with beats so intense, it will not take long before everyone hits the dancefloor and roaring in approval.

Step into the tentage this April for a variety of vaudevillain proportions as the Singapore Dark Alternative Movement brings you the Heart Of Darkness event at Six. Your eyes are not deceiving you, it is still the same haunt opposite Clarke Quay MRT located at the top level SAFRA Gamehaven but with an enhancement that will leave you spellbound even before stepping into the establishment. As with our circus of horrors theme, let ringmasters Mentor (X'Ho), Saito Nagasaki (Aesgrade) and Ghoul unleash the beast known as Death Rock as the main attraction for the night and spinning the likes of Specimen, .45 Grave, Alien Sex Fiend among others. So walk the tightrope and be part of the insane clown posse for a night that does not require a gypsy to tell you that it will make you scream in horror, for it is Bloody Fool after all

An antidote for the disenchanted and elixir for the ones deeply

"Born on the December 19th 1978, FX Adam Joswara, aka DJ VladVamp has been shocking the Indonesian underground club scenes since 2004, spinning the industrial and electronic body music and mixing it with gothic and darkwave music.

Originally from Bandung and studied in Jakarta, and in 1998 he moved to New York, USA to study sound engineering at Institute of Audio Research and worked there for 2 years. He worked at Earache Records (the legendary metal label) and one of the most famous record store in Manhattan, Generation Records. Being a staff in a record store made him find a lot of new music experience especially EBM. He was first attracted to this profession in 2004 because of his obsession to EBM and industrial music. His music career started in a band called KUBIK in 1995 which already released 3 albums and various compilations, the first two albums is released by a major label but the last one was released through his own record label APOCALYPSE REKORDS. Inside KUBIK, he is the chief songwriter and a guitar player, he also makes the majority of the lyrics on every KUBIK’s songs. KUBIK has gained a lot of fans and respect from the underground community as stated in Jakarta Post in April 2005 as one of the bands who changed the Indonesian music industry in the mid 90’s.

When he came back from USA in 2000, he started a new career as a sound designer and remixer, his clients are ranging from major label to indie label with various genres.

And in 2007 he joined the legendary industrial band KOIL as a bass and keyboard player. He also has contribution in designing the sound of their latest album “Blacklight Shines On” which is sponsored by Jack Daniels.

Right now he is in pre production for his debut solo album under the name VLADVAMP which will be release in 2010."

Come 16th October, the interiors of DXO will drip macabre, melancholy and madness as befitting its patrons of eternal night. Hosted by Singapore Dark Alternative Movement (SDAM), the purveyor of Singapore’s only dedicated alternative music events, Alternation will feature, no holds barred, the sickest and harshest of Goth/Industrial/EBM from international club circuits. As the only club event featuring exclusively Gothic / Industrial / Electronic Body Music (EBM) / Darkwave / Future Pop music in Singapore, Dark Friday’s seventh installment promises another stellar night of mayhem and misdemeanors for devotees of the Gothic and Alternative subcultures.

Headlining April’s event is DJ Sect (Eve of Destruction) of Moscow, Russia / Seattle, USA. DJ Sect is multitalented, serving as DJ, composer, sound engineer and producer for his musical projects PURGE and THE SECT. Throughout the course of his career, he has collaborated with the likes of KMFDM, Unter Null, Hanzel und Gretyl and Icon of Coil. DJ Sect also organises and promotes industrial and goth parties in Moscow, Russia as “Eve of Destruction”. His innovative DJ sets pay homage to a wide spectrum of dark alternative sounds, ranging from Gothic classics to industrial, EBM and noise world club hits.

Hot off the success of the December 2008 installment of ‘Dark Friday’ featuring electro-industrial talents DJs DestroyX and ZooG (Australia / Germany) of Angelspit fame, the SDAM has breathed life into local club culture with an exclusive and bonafide Gothic / Dark Alternative clubbing experience held at Night and Day Bar. The benchmark-setting event has drawn considerable attention as the new and emerging Mecca of Dark Alternative Music in Southeast Asia, since hosting on other separate occasions, DJ Panic of the notorious Slimelight Goth club in London and DJ Eskil Simonsson of Sweden's darkwave kings Covenant.

As Dark Friday is held as a social imperative to promote the Goth and Dark Alternative subculture in Singapore, a reasonable S$12 cover will be requested of all patrons. The uninitiated will find their musical sensibilities bombarded with music colloquially referred to as ‘gothic trance’ or ‘hard floor’. Yet familiar dark alternative anthems are likely to be spun amidst new, groundbreaking releases with local deck surgeons DJ Saito Nagasaki (Aesgrade), DJ Mentor (X’ho in a guise) and DJ Murderfreak in tow.

Dark Friday has also attained international sponsorship from global publishing and promotion company NetManagement who has remained staunch in support since the ‘Machines Against Hunger‘ launch and charity event (Beneficiary – Action against Hunger) for Singapore and Southeast Asia by SDAM, held on Friday, 13thJune 2008.

Come 13 March 2009, the Singapore Dark Alternative Movement (SDAM) will revolutionise local club culture once more with internationally-acclaimed talent DJ Mini (Montreal, Canada). As the only club event featuring exclusively Gothic / Industrial / Electronic Body Music (EBM) / Darkwave / Future Pop music in Singapore, Dark Friday’s sixth installment promises another stellar night of mayhem and misdemeanors for devotees of the Gothic and Dark Alternative subcultures.

DJ Mini could be considered the Canadian lady of electroland, with a unique and dynamic sound like no other. Her heavy exposure to techno, new wave and German squarewave productions led her to produce her first original album release, Audio Hygiene, in October 2006. DJ Mini also holds a residency at Montreal’s Parking Club since 2003, serving as its Artistic Director and hosting the world’s leading techno / electro talents. Her deep passion for cutting-edge electronica has lent itself to innovative collaborations with France’s legendary Eighties goth-rockers Trisomie 21 and fellow Montrealers Lesbians on Ecstasy.

13 March 2009 also represents the Record Release party for the following albums:

ENTERTAINMENT, a musical project founded in Atlanta, USA draws on the sounds of the early gothic successes of the 1980s, producing a dark and disturbing soundscape inspired by Bauhaus, the Virgin Prunes and literary figure Franz Kafka.

FEEDING FINGERS, also hailing from Atlanta, USA is inspired by Gothic veterans The Cure and X-Mal Deutschland. Lead singer Justin Curfman resonates with a tragic and ethereal beauty, painting complex pictures of desolation in the vein of The Cure classic “Faith”.

FEMME FATALITY, established since 2003, consists of American brothers and duo Alexander and Monanani Palermo, blending ‘80s synth and hip-hop in a sinister and unconventional mix of biting electro-punk sentiment.
